Ozone

Is it clean if it still smells?

Ozone is a form of oxygen that provides unique cleaning, purification and deodorizing properties. Ozone will react with organic matter and oxidize many unpleasant odors as well as numerous other pollutants.

Ozone is enriched oxygen that contains 3 atoms versus the conventional 2-atom structure. The third atom is loosely attached and easily separates from the molecule to combine with the other organics present. This process is referred to as oxidation, which typically eliminates these unwanted pollutants.

The treatment of fire damaged content and clothing typically begins with comprehensive ozone treatments prior to the cleaning process.

This chemical change is commonly used today in the purification process for spa's and swimming pools as well as in some medical sterilization procedures.

Ozone's characteristic odor can be smelled immediately after an electrical storm, near photocopiers and some electric motors.

These are new alternatives to ozone, which may be employed in special circumstance.
